Strings Attached by Judy Blundell

Whose in the mood for a good historical fiction mystery?

I definitely was when I picked this up, just think 1950’s New York a dark secretive place with a mafia-like group. Throw in a drop of treachery, a cup of dancing and a dash of a set of triplets.

The story follows Kit through her adventure through New York. She has recently broken up with her boyfriend and she has left her family in Providence, Rhode Island. She has a job as a dancer on a Broadway show, When her old boyfriend’s father shows up and offered to give her an apartment and a job, there is on catch though she has to spy on Billy, her old boyfriend and contact them back to him, and help him every so often with a small favor.

4/5 Stars

If you are looking for a good intrigue-filled story this one is for you, when the story starts on the stage of a Broadway show to the end with a bang this book was good.

The book has flashbacks to different points in the main character, Kit’s life, it centers around her and her life in New York in the 1950’s and her job as a dancer and an actress.

When a murder happens at her nightclub, she has to ask her self who to trust and what exactly made her family fall apart all those years ago.

This book was written really well and the main character was amazing, the darkness of the idea of the book was perfect for the time period. I loved reading about flashbacks to her life and how she met her boyfriend, and why he joined the army, the reason why her aunt left her family.

This book could be boring at some points and that is the reason the rating was not a five-star book.

Have an Awesome day!
